I am on the Apple Upgrade program for what is the start of my second year. With the release of Apple's latest (and widely made fun of) iPhone's 7 and 7+, I figured "why the heck not?" and picked up a black 7+.
Main reason to upgrade: We are all anxiously waiting to see what editing RAW via mobile apps will look like a year from now. With companies like Adobe, Mastin Labs, and VSCO all murmuring about RAW editing capabilities coming soon. The larger screen, battery life, and processing speed will hopefully make mobile editing as easy as a trip to the bathroom.
Added bonus: I watched most all of the Patriots vs Steelers game on Sunday using Verizon's Mobile NFL App, and the battery was still around 50%!
I haven't done a whole lot with the 56mm "Portrait Lens" option, however it is a great option (or so I hear). I have honestly been to busy playing around with the X-Pro 2.
Simply put, I like my phone. No it doesn't have as nice of a screen as the Galaxy 7. No it hasn't caught on fire during a Southwest Airlines flight. No I haven't used Google Pixel. Yes I like the upgrade plan.
Zach Rant: Anyone who complains about the tactile experience of one edition's paint job vs. another edition's paint job (or really any other complaint about a cell phone) needs to take their "First World Problems" and spend some time with real people.
